Piano
The old antique piano was standing there in the vast room. The room, empty besides for the large grand piano, had long velvet drapes that let slivers of light through wall-sized windows that danced on the cherry floors and ivory walls.
Tyler moved gracefully towards the piano where he sat. “Do you remember?”
May took small steps towards him. She ran her small fingers over the piano, trying desperately to remember something. A touch, a smell, a sight. “No.”
Tyler smiled softly and began to play. The notes rose and fell from high to low, blending into an utter masterpiece that left Mae breathless the moment the sound bounced off of the walls. He somehow managed to play and still stare at her, his eyes bright and smiling.
The music began to slow down, the notes light and fluttery. He smiled at her and then let his eyes float down to the keys he was playing. “Do you remember a time when I used to love you?”
